Jerusalem, 28 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) --
Years of preparation paid off on Saturday as Israeli hospitals and medical centers moved patients to the safety of underground hospital wards, as Iranian missiles continue to be launched at Israel.
In a video posted on Saturday by Beilinson Hospital, officials displayed the hospital’s fortified ward. Patients who could be discharged on Saturday from Beilinson went home, though the majority of patients were moved to the protected area.
At the Schneider Children’s Medical Center in Petach Tikva, children were moved into a protected area where they could receive uninterrupted care.Similarly at the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya, all patients have been transferred to an underground fortified hospitalization complex.
“All of our Medical Center staff reported promptly and in record numbers,” Prof. Masad Barhoum, the hospital director, told local media. “We are prepared for every scenario and are taking all necessary measures to safeguard our patients and our teams.”
Hospitals throughout Israel have appealed to the public to only seek hospital care for emergencies.
