Atac Sezgin Wins Baku Marathon

Jerusalem, 4 May, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- Baku (AZERTAC) – The winners of the “Baku Marathon 2025”, held at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, have been announced.

AZERTAC reports that the winner of the men’s race in the marathon held under the slogan “Overcome the Wind” was Atac Sezgin from Turkey. Ukrainian Vitaly Shafar crossed the finish line in second place. The bronze medal was won by another Turkish representative, Murat Emekdar.

In the women’s competition, Ukrainian Natalya Semenovich finished first. Azerbaijan’s Anna Yusupova came in second, and Japanese athlete Eriko Soma came in third.

The winners will be awarded cash prizes and medals.

Some 28,000 participants registered for the marathon.
