Azerbaijan Cancels Internet Provider Registration Over False Documentation
Jerusalem, 13 January, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- Baku (AZERTAC) – The Information Communication Technologies Agency (ICTA), the regulatory body in the field of telecommunications and postal services in Azerbaijan, has ensured the cancellation of the registration of “Premiumnetaz” LLC as an internet telecommunications service provider.
The agency told AZERTAC that during the investigation conducted by the ICTA, it was discovered that incorrect information was later added to the documents submitted by the company for registration as an internet telecommunications service provider.
Since the mentioned case creates a direct legal basis for the cancellation of registration in accordance with the “Rules for maintaining records of operators and providers providing Internet telecommunications services” approved by the Resolution No. 427 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated October 12, 2017, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport adopted a relevant administrative act in this regard and the registration of “Premiumnetaz” LLC as an operator providing Internet telecommunications services was canceled.
The ICTA specifically emphasizes the importance of protecting the rights and interests of subscribers when using internet services and recommends that subscribers use only the services of operators and providers registered in accordance with the legislation. Using the services of unregistered operators and providers can pose serious risks to its sustainability, quality and protection of consumer rights, and can also significantly limit the possibilities of using complaint and legal protection mechanisms.
It should be noted that it is unacceptable for operators and providers providing internet telecommunications services to operate without being registered in accordance with the procedure established by law, and this situation creates legal liability in accordance with current legislation.
The agency warns that measures stipulated by law will be taken against unregistered internet providers.
Thus, legal entities and individuals providing internet telecommunications services without registration may be subject to administrative measures provided for by law, and their activities may be restricted or suspended. Subscribers are advised to check the official registration status of the operator and provider through the Internet information resources of the Ministry and the ICTA before concluding a service contract.
