Azerbaijan Electricity Output Down 2.4% in First Eight Months

Jerusalem, 17 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- Baku (AZERTAC) – Between January-August, 17.8 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were produced in Azerbaijan, which is 2.4 percent less than in the same period last year.

The data does not include enterprises whose main activity is not electricity production.

The State Statistics Committee told AZERTAC that 17 billion 376.5 million kilowatt-hours of electricity produced during the reporting period fell to commodity products, which is 1.9 percent less than last year.

According to the report, production from wind power plants increased by 21.8 times to 726.7 million kilowatt-hours, production from solar power plants increased by 9.4 percent to 446.2 million kilowatt-hours, and production from hydroelectric power plants increased by 10.7 percent to 2 billion 498.9 million kilowatt-hours.
