Jerusalem, 6 April, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- Baku (AZERTAC) Kazakhstan has launched a large-scale energy project with Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, which will lay a cable line across the bottom of the Caspian Sea and export green energy to European markets.
AZERTAC reports that Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev made these remarks while speaking at the Central Asia-European Union Summit in Samarkand.
He said that this project is very important for both Central Asia and Europe.
The President noted that 19 of the 34 types of products essential for the European Union’s economy are produced in Kazakhstan.
“The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route is used to transport products such as uranium, titanium, copper, tungsten, cobalt, lithium to Europe. The volume of cargo transportation along this route has increased by 62 percent to 4.5 million tons and will reach 10 million tons in 2027. Its effective use is important for both regions,” the President of Kazakhstan said.
