Azerbaijan Plans Expanded Aluminum Production, New Processing Facilities

Jerusalem, 23 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- Baku (AZERTAC) – In accordance with the feasibility study prepared by the Azerbaijan Investment Holding, the construction of a calcination and anode baking plant will be carried out in conjunction with the identification of financing sources and relevant state bodies (institutions).

AZERTAC reports that this was stated in the “State Program on the Development of Mining (Metal Ores) and Metallurgical Industry in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2027-2030”.

According to the State Program, it is planned to complete the electrolysis plant project of “Azeraluminum” LLC in the city of Ganja and increase its production capacity.

At the same time, within the framework of the new project for the production of aluminum rolled products, it is planned to increase production capacities, identify priority products for deep processing of aluminum, investigate the possibilities of their use as raw materials and semi-finished products in other industrial sectors, as well as promote projects submitted by the private sector in this area.

In addition, it is planned to assess the possibilities of industrial use of alunite in the Zaylik-Alunit deposits, production of alumina and aluminum from it. The possibilities of establishing a new primary aluminum production facility with an annual production capacity of approximately 200 thousand tons by the private sector will be assessed.
