Azerbaijan Secures More Wins at U-15 European Boxing Championship
Jerusalem, 21 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- (AZERTAC) – Three more Azerbaijani boxers won at the U-15 European Championship held in Budva, Montenegro.
The Azerbaijan Boxing Federation told AZERTAC that Onur Gurbanov (42 kilograms) faced Arkan Zoubi (Israel) in the quarterfinals. He won the fight with a score of 5:0 (29:29, 30:27, 29:28, 29:28, 29:28). The boxer secured at least a bronze medal by advancing to the semifinals. Gurbanov will face Mason Long (England) on his way to the finals. The fight will take place on October 24.
Sarkhan Hagverdiyev (63 kilograms) challenged Ricardo Karabas (Austria) in the 1/8 finals. It took Hagverdiyev only 57 seconds to knock out his opponent and win with complete advantage. He will fight David Yuldashev (Ukraine) in the 1/4 finals.
Nurlan Museyibli (66 kg) decided the fate of his match against Mikhail Nikolayenko (Israel) in the 1/8 finals in the first round. The national member, who won with complete advantage, will face Vladimir Versesjan (Estonia) in his next match.
Both boxers will compete in the quarterfinals on October 23.
The European Championship, which was attended by 369 athletes from 32 countries, concludes on October 25.
