Azerbaijan Starts Boxing World Cup With Perfect Record

Jerusalem, 22 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- The Boxing World Cup is underway in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil.

The Boxing Federation told AZERTAC that both athletes of the Azerbaijani national team who entered the ring on the second day of the rating competition won.

In the 55 kg category, Zidan Hunbatov eliminated Agustin Susloagan (Uruguay) in the 1/16 finals – 5:0 (30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 29:28, 30:27). He will next face Rafael Lozano Serrano (Spain). The fight will take place on April 23.
