Azerbaijan Tops Europe in U-17 Beach Wrestling After Double Gold Haul

Jerusalem, 28 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- Baku (AZERTAC) – The U-17 European Beach Wrestling Championship was held in Poreč, Croatia.

AZERTAC reports that four members of the Azerbaijani national team have won medals at the continental championship. Eljan Hasanov (60 kilograms) and Ruslan Valiyev (80 kilograms) became European champions. Rashad Aliyev (70 kilograms) and Elvin Hajiguliyev (80 kilograms), who lost in the final, settled for silver medals.

Thus, the Azerbaijani national team ultimately became the European champion in the team standings with 80 points. Although Georgia also scored the same number of points, Azerbaijan won more medals.
