Azerbaijani Wrestlers Win 13 Medals in Antalya Tournament

Jerusalem, 20 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- Baku (AZERTAC) – The “Champions” tournament held in Antalya, Turkey, has ended. AZERTAC reports that on the last day of the tournament, four Azerbaijani wrestlers took the podium.

In freestyle wrestling, Bashir Verdiyev (65 kilograms) and Yusif Dursunov (125 kilograms) won silver, and Mukhamad Gantemirov (125 kilograms) won bronze.

In Greco-Roman wrestling, Tural Ahmadov (63 kilograms) defeated all his opponents and became the champion.

Our national freestyle wrestling team finished the tournament in 3rd place in the team standings with 119 points.

Overall, Azerbaijani wrestlers won a total of 13 medals (three gold, four silver, six bronze) at the “Champions” tournament.
