Azerbaijanis Take Medals in Badminton Tournament

Jerusalem, 27 February, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- (AZERTAC) – Young Azerbaijani badminton players excelled at the Uganda Junior International 2025 in Kampala, earning a total of two silver, and four bronze medals.

Two silvers came from Hajar Nuriyeva in girls’ singles for ages up to 19, and Leyla Jamalzade and Hajar Nuriyeva in girls’ doubles.

In boys’ singles, Ulvi Huseynov earned the bronze medal. Amirkhan Imanov – Hajar Nuriyeva and Ulvi Huseynov – Leyla Jamalzade bagged another two bronzes for the country in the mixed double discipline. In boys’ doubles competition, the Azerbaijani pair Ulvi Huseynov and Amirkhan Imanov grabbed a bronze medal.

Additionally, Dicky Pangestu captured the silver medal in the individual category at the Uganda International Challenge 2025 tournament.
