Ban on Mobile Phones in Bulgarian Schools Expected to Take Effect in January

Jerusalem, 3 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- Vratsa Maya Tsenova (BTA) – The ban on the use of mobile phones in schools is expected to come into effect in January with the adoption of the second reading of the Preschool and School Education Act. This was stated by the Minister of Education and Science Krasimir Valchev in the village of Tarnava, Byala Slatina Municipality.

According to him, at the moment, before the final entry into force of the law, about 800 schools have already adopted the ban by decision of the school management.

Valchev is in Tarnava for the opening of a new gymnasium at the “Hristo Botev” Primary School, as well as for a meeting with teachers from the municipality of Byala Slatina.
