Breaking News: Palestinians Open Fire at IDF Troops on Gaza Border; IDF Responds
Jerusalem, 25 July, 2018 (TPS) -- Breaking News: Palestinians opened fire on an IDF patrol in the southern Gaza Strip Wednesday, along the Gaza-Israel border. In response, the military said the air force had fired on a range of Hamas targets along the length of the barrier fence.
20:31 – Initial reports indicate that one IDF soldier has been wounded.
20:57 – The IDF Spokesman’s Unit said that one officer was seriously wounded in the incident.
21:14 – Air raid siren in the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council.
21:19 – IDF tanks have attacked seven Hamas targets along the length of the Gaza Strip in retaliation for the shooting incident in the southern portion of the Strip.
21:34 – There are unconfirmed reports in the Arab media of Israeli air force strikes on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights.
22:38 – The IDF Spokesman’s Unit confirmed that IAF aircraft attacked rocket-firing squads that fired two missiles at Israel earlier Wednesday. The military also said that IDF artillery fired at the area that the rockets emanated from, and noted that there has been intensive fighting on the Syrian side of the international border in recent days.
“The IDF will respond to all attempts to violate the sovereignty of the State of Israel or the security of its residents,” the military said.
23:07 – Another Code Red alert sounded in the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council. One missile was seen falling into the ocean.
23:11 – The IDF Spokesman’s Unit said the officer wounded in this evening’s shooting attack on an IDF patrol by Palestinians in the southern region of the Gaza Strip has been listed in moderate condition.
