Jerusalem, 29 May, 2018 (TPS) -- Breaking News: Palestinians resumed heavy rocket fire at Israeli cities Tuesday evening.

22:31 Code Red alerts have been heard in Ashkelon, Netivot and throughout the Eshkol Regional Council. Explosions were heard but have not yet been traced. Officials are scouring the areas.

22: 48 The IDF Home Front Command says that schools in the Ashkelon Regional Council region will operate normally, but civilian gatherings in closed quarters will be limited to 1000 people, and in open spaces to 500 people. The army also instructed residents to remain within 15 seconds of a protected space.

23:14 There are unconfirmed reports that Egyptian negotiators have brokered a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. The truce is believed to be based on the 2014 Operation Protective Edge ceasefire agreement.

23:46  Code Red alerts sound in Sadot Negev and Sha’ar Hanegev regional councils.

23:55 The city of Kiryat Gat, located 20 kilometers from Gaza, ordered municipal workers to open public bomb shelters in light of the ongoing rocket fire and suggested that apartment buildings open shared shelters as well. City officials stressed that they had not been instructed by the IDF Home Front Command to open the shelters.

Midnight: Israel has denied that a ceasefire has been reached. Islamic Jihad officials had said the truce would begin at midnight.

00:04 MK Uri Ariel (Jewish Home) told the Israel Broadcast Corporation (Kan)  that Israel should assassinate the leaders of terror organizations. Ariel said he hopes that Prime Minister Netanyahu makes this decision soon and added that it is “not helpful” for terror leaders to escape justice.

00:46 Debris from a rocket from Gaza has struck a soccer stadium in the town of Netivot. An Iron Dome battery shot down the incoming missile. No injuries were reported.
