Bulgarian Girls Take Gold at European Rhythmic Gymnastics Cup
Jerusalem, 4 May, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- Baku (BTA) – Bulgaria triumphed in the girls’ team competition at the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan. The country is represented by Magdalena Valkova, Alexa Rasheva and Antoaneta Tsankova.
The Graces showed strong and confident play and collected an asset of 97.750 points (25.450 in hoop, 24.450 in ball, 24.900 in clubs and 22.950 in all-around) to win the gold. The silver medal went to the Italian team with 97.250, and in third place was Israel with 96.800.
Three out of four possible finals for the Bulgarians tomorrow. Magdalena Valkova is among the finalists in hoop with a first-place score of 25.450 points (difficulty 10.700; artistry 7.400; execution 7.350). In ribbon, Valkova is first reserve with 22.950 (9.500; 7.000; 6.450). Antoaneta Tsankova found a place among the top eight in clubs with the highest score of 24.900 points (10.300; 7.450; 7.200). Alexa Rasheva qualified for the ball final with a second score of 24.450 (9.400; 7.450; 7.650).
Thus, Bulgarians now have four medals (two gold and two bronze) from the competition after the title in the all-around of the girls’ ensemble, Dara Malinova’s bronze in the women’s clubs and the third place in the women’s five-ribbed ensemble.
The judge for Bulgaria at this competition is Rada Vrazheva, who was on the difficulty panel with the ball and ribbon apparatus today.
Later on Sunday are the “Cross Battles” in the women’s ensembles with the participation of Bulgaria.
