Bulgarian Mountain Rescuers, Dogs Arrive in Turkiye Well Prepared
Jerusalem, 7 February, 2023 (TPS) -- ADANA, TURKIYE, 07.02.2023 (BTA)
The Bulgarian mountain rescuers and dogs who went to Turkiye have everything they need for a five-day autonomous stay, but will stay longer if necessary. This is what the director of the Mountain Rescue Service Emil Neshev told BTA. According to him, last night at 1:45, the rescuers and dogs arrived at the airport in Adana, Turkiye. They will remain in the Adana area for now but will be moved if necessary. It will be discussed further if there is a need for them to stay longer in the earthquake area.
Their telephones will be switched off because of the conditions under which they are working, and they will be contacted only if necessary, Neshev said. The rescuers have radio communication with each other, he added. There are 12 mountain rescuers deployed, along with five dogs. The care of the dogs will be provided by Bulgarian rescuers only.
More information is expected later in the day.
