Bulgarian Patriarch Daniil to Visit Jerusalem, Jordan

Jerusalem, 16 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- Sofia (BTA) – The Bulgarian Patriarch and Metropolitan of Sofia Daniil will visit the Patriarchate of Jerusalem from September 25 to 30, the Bulgarian Orthodox Church – Bulgarian Patriarchate (BOC-BP) announced.

The visit comes at the invitation of the Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos.

The delegation includes Metropolitan John of Varna and Veliko Preslav and Metropolitan Seraphim of Nevrokop, Bishop Gerasim of Melnik – Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod, Protodeacon Dr. Deyan Korunoski, Dr. Alexander Smochevski – Patriarchal Advisor and Translator, and other persons.

The program includes official meetings and talks, worship before Christian shrines, and a joint celebration of the Holy Divine Liturgy by the two primates on September 27.

The visit will continue in the Kingdom of Jordan, where the program includes meetings and pilgrimage visits. A meeting of the Bulgarian Patriarch Daniil with the King of Jordan Abdullah II is also planned.
