Bulgaria’s National Guards Unit Leads Bastille Day Military Parade in Paris

Bulgaria’s National Guards Unit led the Bastille Day parade of infantry troops organized as part of the celebrations of the French national day on July 14 on the Champs-Elysees in Paris.

The parade was opened by nine countries from Central and Eastern Europe – Bulgaria, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, and the Czech Republic.

French President Emmanuel Macron saluted the service persons as he passed by them in a military vehicle along the Champs-Elysees before taking his seat on the official rostrum at Place de la Concorde among other senior government officials.

A total of 6,300 people took part in the parade in central Paris this year. There were also 64 aircraft, one drone, 25 helicopters, 200 horses and 181 pieces of motorized equipment, according to AFP.
