Fog paralyzes traffic; only 4 flights depart from Skopje Airport

Dense fog that reduced visibility seriously disrupted road and airline traffic across the country this morning, with only four flights departing from Skopje Airport. No planes were able to land until shortly before noon.

According to the Auto-Moto Association of Macedonia, visibility was reduced to 50-100 meters near Kichevo, at the Gjavato mountain pass, and along the Vardar valley.

Makedonija Road Public Enterprise, which is in charge of road maintenance, has urged drivers to drive carefully and respect traffic rules, signs, and signals.

According to the Skopje Airport website, only four Wizz Air planes have been able to take off so far.

No landings were possible this morning until a Pegasus Airlines plane from Istanbul landed at 11:18.
