Four Titles, Seven Medals for Bulgarian Women in Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament

Jerusalem, 30 March, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- Sofia (BTA) – Four titles and a total of seven medals for Bulgaria were won by Stiliyana Nikolova, Dara Stoyanova, Eva Brezalieva and Dara Malinova in the finals of the women’s individual apparatus at the international rhythmic gymnastics tournament “Sofia Cup”, which ended in the capital’s “Sofia” hall.

In the first final, Eva Brezelieva’s impeccable performance brought her her first gold medal with a score of 29.600 points (difficulty 13.200; artistry 8.350; execution 8.050). The other Bulgarian, Dara Stoyanova, also played very strongly and took silver with 27.600 (11.900; 7.950; 7.750). Third place went to Romania’s Christina Halep with 25.550.

In ball, Stiliyana Nikolova became the champion, and Dara Malinova was second. Valentina Ivanova’s pupil Nikolova received a score of 30.100 (13.300; A. 8.500; E. 8 300). In her only final, Dara Malinova took silver with 27.250 (11.500; 8.000; 7.750).

On clubs, Nikolova continued her strong play and triumphed with 30.600 (13.600; 8.600; 8.400), while Dara Stoyanova took second place with 27.300 (11.500; 8.050; 7.750).

Eva Brezalieva won the ribbon title. After the hoop distinction, Branimira Markova’s student took a second gold with 28.350 (12.400; 8.100; 7.850). Dara Stoyanova made mistakes in her composition and with 24.050 (10.400; 7.350; 6.900 she ranked fourth.

Third in ball is Mikayla Yang (Singapore) with 25.650 points, in clubs the bronze goes to Alisa Lebedeva (Latvia) with 26.900 points, and in ribbon second and third are respectively Isabella Wang (Australia) with 24.550 and Joy E Ng (Malaysia) with 24.500.

Bulgaria’s total tally from the competition is 16 medals (11 gold and 5 silver) in women’s and girls’ individual and girls’ ensemble. This is the last test before the World Cup in Sofia from April 4 to 6 at the “Arena 8888.”
