Jerusalem, 7 October, 2023 (TPS) -- Following morning barrages of missiles fired from the Gaza Strip, over 200 Israelis have been reported injured, along with one death.

Additionally, it has been reported that 60 terrorists entered Israel at some 14 locations.

Early reports indicate that 2,500 missiles were fired upon Israel from the Gaza Strip, reaching as far as Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. At the same time, exploding Iron Dome anti-missile fire was heard, as Arab missiles were intercepted.

In a statement posted this morning, Stephanie Hallett, the chargé d’affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem, said she was “sickened by the images coming out of southern Israel of dead and wounded civilians at the hands of terrorists from Gaza. The United States stands with Israel.”

Additionally, tens of thousands of Israeli army reserve personnel are set to be mobilized. There are also reports that some reserve troops participating in the protest movement against the Netanyahu government are returning to reserve duty following the attacks.

Media is further reporting attacks on Hamas positions in the Gaza Strip by Israeli fighter aircraft.

Speaking to Israeli citizens on Saturday morning, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “This is not an operation, this is a war.”

“First of all, I instructed to cleanse the settlements of the terrorists who had infiltrated them,” he continued. “At the same time, I ordered an extensive reserve mobilization.”

“The enemy will pay a price they have never known.”
