Iran Expresses Interest in Azerbaijan’s Post-Conflict Reconstruction Projects
Jerusalem, 21 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- Iran is showing great interest in participating in the reconstruction work being carried out in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, including infrastructure reconstruction, energy and agricultural development projects.
This opinion was expressed by Lana Ravandi-Fadai, senior research fellow at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences and director of the Center for Eastern Culture, in the next episode of AZERTAC’s “Azerbaijan and the World” program.
According to the expert, agriculture is one of the most promising areas in terms of creating joint ventures aimed at both the domestic market and export. He emphasized that such projects can provide additional impetus to the economic development of border regions.
He noted that economic and trade cooperation between the two countries is showing steady growth. The expert also highlighted the importance of creating a competitive business environment. In his opinion, accelerating work on the development of the legal framework, including investment and preferential trade agreements, will be one of the key factors for the implementation of new large projects.
Azerbaijan has embarked on resettling districts in and around Nagorno-Karabakh previously under Armenian control.
