Israel Strikes Hezbollah Compound Overnight

Jerusalem, 24 April, 2024 (TPS) -- Israeli aircraft struck a Hezbollah military compound in Southern Lebanon overnight, the Israel Defense Forces said on Wednesday morning.

The compoundw was located in the area of Ayta ash Shab. Also struck was a Hezbollah observation post in the area of Marwahin.

Israeli artillery also fired to remove  threats in the areas of Chihine and Kfarchouba.

The IDF also confirmed carrying out airstrikes on Tuesday in retaliation for rockets fired by Hezbollah that landed in open areas of near Moshav Shomera in the Galilee.

The IDF said it struck the launcher in the Southern Lebanese area of Tayr Harfa area, from which the rockets were fired.

Hezbollah leaders have suggested that they will continue to fire rockets to prevent Israelis from returning to their northern homes. Israeli officials have been calling for Hezbollah to be disarmed and removed from Southern Lebanon in accordance with UN Security Council resolution 1701, which ended the 2006 Second Lebanon War.
