Jerusalem, 10 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- Bucharest (Agerpres) – Experts from Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Safety visiting Romania inspected, in Alba County, the unit that expressed interest in exporting eggs to this country, to ensure that food safety and animal health standards are respected, the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA) informs on Wednesday.

The visit began with an official meeting at the ANSVSA headquarters, where the Romanian side presented the legislative framework, the sanitary-veterinary control system and food safety in Romania, as well as the guarantees offered to trading partners regarding animal health and the safety of products of animal origin.

“Later, the Israeli delegation, accompanied by representatives of the ANSVSA, traveled to Alba County for an on-site assessment of how these European and national requirements are applied. The unit that expressed interest in exporting eggs for consumption was audited, and the Israeli experts checked the entire chain – from the farm to the packaging centre – to ensure that food safety and animal health standards are respected,” ANSVSA said.

Special attention was paid to the activity of the sanitary-veterinary laboratory, the way in which samples are analyzed and how investigations are carried out, all of which represent essential links in the mechanism for guaranteeing food safety.

The visit to Alba County was part of a broader assessment program, which also included the Bihor and Vaslui counties. The visit also represents another step in strengthening Romania’s position as a trusted partner on the international food market. This mission follows other similar efforts, such as the visit of the delegation of the Department of Animal Health and Production (DAHP) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment from Vietnam, initiating the necessary procedures to approve the export of poultry meat from Romania to Vietnam.
