Israeli Police Seize 2.4 Million Shekels in Terror Money
Jerusalem, 30 September, 2024 (TPS) -- Israeli Police confiscated 2,400,000 shekels ($648,000) suspected of being destined for terror financing after officers stopped a suspicious Palestinian driver, the police said on Monday.
A search of the car in Samaria on Saturday turned up several bags of money, including 1.1 million shekels ($297,000) and $348,000 in foreign currency. The two passengers, both residents of Ramallah in their 20s were taken in for questioning.
Separately, Israeli security forces arrested more than 20 wanted Palestinians in counter-terror raids in the areas of Hebron, Shechem (Nablus), Tulkarem, Silwad, Qalqiliya and Hares.
Since October 7, Israeli security forces have arrested more than 5,250 wanted Palestinians, of whom over 2,050 are associated with Hamas.
