Israelis Awake To 3,000 Missiles Launched from Gaza, Infiltrations By Hamas Terrorists

Jerusalem, 7 October, 2023 (TPS) -- Israel is battling a dual threat on Saturday morning, with heavy barrages of rockets fired from the Gaza Strip and numerous infiltration attempts by terrorists. In a surprise attack on the morning of the Jewish holiday of Simchat Hatora, incoming missiles sent residents searching for shelter as air raid sirens sounded throughout the country.

Approximately one hour after the rocket onslaught began, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that a group of terrorists had successfully infiltrated Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip. The sudden breach left some residents on high alert, with instructions to remain indoors for safety. The infiltration appears to have been executed using windsurfers and possibly through the use of existing underground tunnels.

Bar, an eyewitness to the attacks, shared his account of the events as he was spending the night at Zikim beach located in southern Israel. “We saw rubber boats in the sea,” he recalled. “An exchange of gunfire began, and we immediately fled from the beach toward the nearby military training base.”

Bar said he and friends were forced to take refuge outside the training base for nearly an hour.
As the situation unfolded, Bar said, “We spotted a terrorist covered in the nearby bushes.”

Bar and his friends heard from a guard that roads remained open, which allowed them to make a dash for their vehicles, seeking refuge from the ongoing danger.

However, the escape was not without risk. “Three of our vehicles came under sniper fire, resulting in injuries to several individuals,” Bar said. The wounded were evacuated by ambulance.

Due to the high number of casualties, Magen David Adom has issued an appeal to the public, urging them to contribute blood.
