Jerusalem, 21 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- A unique cultural event, “The Largest Camel Caravan in the World,” took place in the Kurty rural district of the Ili district.

According to the regional administration, the event was organized by a private enterprise with the aim of reviving the national spirit, promoting nomadic culture, and developing tourism and entrepreneurship. The main goal is to set a world record.

The caravan included 1,000 camels, traveling along a specially prepared 1-kilometer route. The previous world record was set in China in 2022, when only 365 camels participated.

To ensure the safety of spectators and participants, police, firefighters, medical personnel, and veterinary services were deployed. The area was equipped with turnstiles, and spectator access to the caravan was restricted.

Richard Stanning, a representative of the Guinness Book of World Records, traveled from the UK specifically to attend the event. In his speech, he emphasized that this was the first time he had witnessed a camel caravan of such impressive scale. He stated that Kazakhstan will officially receive the title of “Largest Camel Caravan in the World,” and after all formalities are completed, the record will be entered into the Guinness Book of World Records.

On March 22, the day of Nauryz celebrations, another large-scale event took place in Aktau : 5,000 people in Kazakh national dress gathered together and set a Guinness World Record for “Largest Number of People in Kazakh National Dress.”
