Kazakhstan Expands Space Industry with $70–75M Satellite Exports

Jerusalem, 4 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- (Kazinform) – Kazakhstan will earn from $70 to $75 million from the export of three spacecraft to Nigeria, Congo and Mongolia. This was announced by Vice Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan Malik Olzhabekov, answering a question from a Kazinform correspondent at a briefing in the Senate.

According to him, today Kazakhstan operates five satellites, including three Earth remote sensing satellites provide imaging of the visible surface of the planet and
two communication satellites – responsible for retransmitting radio signals, television broadcasting and communications within the country.

Six more devices are currently being developed: four are optical satellites for remote sensing of the Earth, two are radar satellites that use radar waves to scan the Earth’s surface and provide 3D spatial data.

Three of the devices under development are intended for export to Congo, Nigeria and Mongolia.

The satellites are being developed by Galam LLP, 72% of whose shares belong to the national company Kazakhstan-Garysh Sapary and 27% to Airbus Defence and Space.

“We plan to complete our satellites by the end of 2026, work on their creation is already in full swing, and the launch is expected, if I am not mistaken, at the beginning of 2027. Three other satellites, they will be ready in the period 2028-2029,” the vice minister added.
