Measles Cases Rise To 153 In Bulgaria As New Infections Reported
Jerusalem, 22 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- Sofia (BTA) – A total of 153 measles cases have been reported in Bulgaria, according to data as of April 21, published on the website of the Ministry of Health. The four new cases were reported on Tuesday. There is one case each in the districts of Vratsa, Lovech, Pleven, and Sofia City. The newly infected are aged 10-48.
Since the beginning of the outbreak in the country, more than 19,580 measles, mumps and rubella vaccines have been administered. Immunization is mandatory and is administered after the age of 13 months and after the age of 12 years.
The main symptoms of measles are fever, runny nose, cough, tearing, eye inflammation, and rash.
