Ministerial Meeting of Non-Aligned Movement Coordinating Bureau Underway in Baku

The Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement Coordinating Bureau themed “NAM: United and steadfast in confronting emerging challenges” is underway at Baku Convention Center.

Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva read out the address of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to the participants of the event. In his address Antonio Guterres hailed the NAM Azerbaijani chairmanship, noting that it contributed to the discussion and solution of the challenges the world faced.

Speaking at the event, Montenegro’s Prime Minister Dritan Abazović highlighted that the Non-Aligned Movement offers a platform for finding solutions to crises and discussions. He stressed that he supports the NAM Azerbaijani chairmanship and its initiatives to further strengthen the global voice of this organization.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan hailed Azerbaijan`s chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement, saying that Azerbaijan accepted the chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement at a very difficult time – during wars and conflicts.
