More Than 100 Fires Put Out Across Bulgaria in One Day

Jerusalem, 26 July, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- Sofia (BTA) – A total of 101 fires have been extinguished in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours, the General Directorate for Fire Safety and Population Protection (GDPBZN) announced on its website. Fire brigade teams responded to 146 reports of accidents.

No citizens were killed or injured in the fires.

11 fires with direct material damage occurred, of which five – in residential buildings, one – in a vehicle and two – in outdoor facilities.

90 fires occurred without causing material damage, of which 47 – in dry grass, forest litter and bushes, two – in stubble and 33 – in waste.

36 rescue activities and assistance operations were carried out, four of which were in vehicle accidents.

There were nine false calls.
