Jerusalem, 27 January, 2020 (TPS) -- By: MIA
North Macedonia’s imports in Kosovo increased by 40 percent in 2019, after Pristina introduced a 100-percent tax on imports from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, reads daily Koha Ditore, MIA reports from Pristina.
North Macedonia’s imports in Kosovo in 2019 exceeded EUR 239 million, a EUR 63 million increase compared to the previous year.
Albania also benefited from the tax increase, with imports amounting to EUR 222,5 million, an 8-percent rise compared to 2018.
On the other hand, Serbian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic said back in November that the measure resulted in Serbian imports’ drop from over EUR 440 million to less than EUR 50 million in the year after the tax had been introduced.
