Organization of Bulgarian Jews in Israel Celebrates 90th Anniversary
Jerusalem, 10 June, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- (BTA) – The largest organization of Bulgarian Jews in Israel, “Ehud Olei Bulgaria,” celebrated its 90th anniversary, the Embassy of Bulgaria in Israel announced this on its Facebook page.
The anniversary was celebrated on June 3 with a concert performance in the hall of the Gesher Theater in Tel Aviv. Dancers from the Bulgarian folklore dance ensemble “Sredets” arrived especially for the event, sharing the stage with the Israeli trumpeter and artist of Bulgarian origin Arik Davidov and friends, as well as with one of the institutions of Bulgarian Jews in Israel – the “Sadikov” Choir.
In her welcome address, Ambassador Slavena Gergova congratulated “Ehud Olei Bulgaria”, including on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, on the significant anniversary and addressed specifically the leadership of the organization, represented by Ino Yitzhak.
The Bulgarian diplomat emphasized the significant role of “Ehud Olei Bulgaria” in the development of friendly relations between the peoples of Bulgaria and Israel and in preserving the Bulgarian culture and spirit in Israel over the years, encouraging the organization’s future initiatives and emphasizing their significance in the current difficult context for Israel.
Heartfelt congratulations to those present were delivered via video address by Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who thanked the organization for its work in developing and deepening ties between the two countries and the two peoples.
