Pazardzhik District Sees 31 Fire-Related Negligence Investigations in 2025

Jerusalem, 10 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- Pazardzhik (BTA) – A total of 31 pre-trial proceedings for causing fires through negligence have been initiated in the Pazardzhik region since the beginning of the year, the Pazardzhik District Prosecutor’s Office announced. So far, no deliberate arson has been established.

In 2024, there were 49 cases, with six arson proceedings initiated. The prosecutor’s office statistics include all fires that occurred – in homes, public places, roads, cars, forests, buildings, and others.

The police add that since the beginning of the harvest campaign this year, 12 acts have been drawn up for unregulated lighting of open fires in the Pazardzhik region.

On Saturday, Pazardzhik firefighters localized a fire in the area of the 86th kilometer of the “Trakia” highway. At the end of July the fire burned 5,300 acres of land between the villages of Vinogradets and Kalugerovo.

In July, the teams of the Regional Directorate “Fire Safety and Population Protection” responded to a total of 312 accidents in the region.
