“Perfect Execution”: Netanyahu Praises Air Force for Yemen Airport Strike

Jerusalem, 6 May, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has praised the Air Force for the successful bombing of Yemen’s main airport.

Sana’a International airport was struck today, an hour after an evacuation warning was sent out by IDF commanders.

The station and planes parked there were destroyed, two days after a missile launched from Yemen caused damage and injuries at Israel’s Ben Gurion airport.

In a statement, Netanyahu said: “I have said many times that whoever attacks the State of Israel – let his blood be on his head. Yesterday I said that the attack by the Houthi will be answered not with ‘a blow and we are done’ – but with ‘blows’.

“So yesterday we dealt a blow, a heavy blow to the port of Hodeidah. Today our planes attacked the airport in Sana’a, the airport that enables the terrorist army and the air entry into the terrorist state, which enables the firing of missiles against us.

“Our choice of when to respond, how to respond, and on what targets to respond – this is a consideration we make every time. And this also concerns the patron of the Houthis – Iran, without whose approval and their long-term support, the Houthis cannot carry out their criminal missile attack on us.

“President Trump said this a month and a half ago. I say it again today – we will hold accountable anyone who attacks the State of Israel.

“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Chief of Staff, you, the Commander of the Air Force, the intelligence, our wonderful air and ground crews, our wonderful pilots, and everyone who assists them. Congratulations on a perfect execution.”

Defense Minister Israel Katz commented: “The Houthi terrorist organization attempted to attack Ben-Gurion Airport, and in response we destroyed the airport in Sana’a today.

“In addition, we also struck additional targets, following yesterday’s attacks on the port of Hodeidah, on additional national infrastructure that we hit.

“Whoever harms us – we will be harmed sevenfold. This is also a warning message to the head of the Iranian octopus: ‘You bear direct responsibility for every attack by the Houthi octopus arm against the State of Israel – and you will also bear the full consequences.'”

Terror group the Houthi’s, who are based in Yemen and funded by Iran, have frequently launched ballistic missiles at Israel for the past several months.

The missile that landed at Ben Gurion airport on Sunday was the first to evade Israel’s iron dome system, causing eight people to be injured and left a large crater.
