President Stevo Pendarovski on Tuesday wished all Orthodox faithful a merry Christmas.

“As a new year is starting, I wish the citizens of our country a peaceful and more beautiful year than the previous one. I hope that every personal progress would translate into a progress of the community and the country as a whole,” Pendarovski stated after attending a Christmas mass in Ohrid with his wife Elizabeta.

He said he found the coin hidden in a bread, which is the centerpiece of a traditional Christmas Eve family dinner, which involves breaking of a bread with a coin.

On Monday, Pendarovski with his wife and son welcomed children singing traditional Christmas songs that were part of a Christmas procession, taking place for the seventh time in Ohrid.
