‘Safe Intervals Are Short’: Bulgaria Seeks Land Routes to Evacuate Citizens From Israel

Jerusalem, 16 June, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- Sofia (BTA) – “Our priority is aimed at the safe evacuation of Bulgarian citizens from Israe ,” said Bulgarian Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev on BNT.

According to him, there are also several people in Iran who want to be evacuated, and in the last few hours, 11 people have left Amman and are in Bulgaria.

“It is currently impossible to send a plane to Israel . The safe intervals for evacuating people are short and the only less risky option is to evacuate people by land to less risky regions,” the minister explained.

The European Union cannot be indifferent to what is happening. The Union must be at the table when the topic is discussed. It is important to take into account the report of the International Atomic Energy Agency, which speaks of unregulated actions, pointed out Georg Georgiev.

“We hope that this is a temporary situation from which there is a way out. We are currently at the most critical point in our recent history,” Georgiev commented, adding that it is the president’s decision whether to convene the National Security Advisory Council.
