Shakhboot bin Nahyan participates in ‘Donors and Supporters Conference’ of International Anti-Terrorism Academy in Paris

Jerusalem, 14 July, 2022 (TPS) -- PARIS, (WAM) — Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of State of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), participated in the Donors and Supporters Conference of the International Anti-Terrorism Academy, which was held in Paris. The Conference aims to confront all forms of terrorism through training and qualification programs.

Sheikh Shakhboot delivered a speech on this occasion in which he pointed out that despite the tangible global progress, extremist ideologies still pose an imminent and direct threat to the safety and prosperity of our societies.

He underscored that the UAE is a leading regional and international partner in combating terrorism and that it believes that a common strategy is vital to combating extremism and addressing its main drivers.

Moreover, Sheikh Shakhboot said, “The academy’s overarching principles represent the commitment of the UAE to combat terrorism across various sectors, which include hosting and establishing strategic centers such as the Sawab Centre and Hedayah Center to address many challenges, including terrorism, and provide specialised training to enable and develop national capabilities in this regard.”

“The UAE firmly believes that success in combating all forms of extremism and terrorism depends on finding solutions to their root causes, and playing a proactive role in promoting the values of tolerance and coexistence as foundations for peace, prosperity, and the achievement of human brotherhood,’’ he added.

Sheikh Shakhboot thanked Tene Birahima Ouattara, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, and Catherine Colonna, France’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, for organizing this important conference.
