Stabbing Attack in Jerusalem's Old City, One Injured

Jerusalem (TPS) – An Israeli was stabbed in his upper back at the edge of the Muslim and Christian Quarters of Jerusalem’s Old City on Friday afternoon, March 11.

Shortly after 2 p.m. emergency services were called to the Haladiyya Ascent to assist an individual who sustained the stab wounds, in what turned out to be a terrorist attack.

“Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics treated one Israeli male in his late 20s with stab wounds in his upper body. The victim is in a moderate state and is fully conscious, and was evacuated to the Shaare Tzedek hospital in Jerusalem,” said MDA Spokesperson Zachi Heler.

The terrorist, who attempted to flee the scene immediately after the stabbing, was caught within minutes by the Jerusalem Police.

“The terrorist was quickly spotted hiding in one of the nearby alleys during a wide operation of the Israel Police, Border Police on the scene and utilizing the security camera system in the Old City,” stated a spokesperson from the Jerusalem District Police.

According to the Police spokesperson, the terrorist is a 19-year-old Palestinian resident of Kafr Kablan. He has been arrested and taken for questioning.
