Terror Express: Gazan Groups Using Online Retailers To Order Military Parts

Jerusalem, 14 November, 2017 (TPS) -- Customs officers at the Erez Crossing between Gaza and Israel have seized hundreds of packages believed to contain military components destined for terror organizations inside the Strip, the Defense Ministry said Tuesday.

The packages seized contained drones, weapon-mountable laser pointers and scopes, radio equipment, metal detectors, electronic components and assault rifle parts, ordered from online retailers such as AliExpress.

Packages destined for Gaza are processed through Israel and undergo a security screening. In recent weeks, border crossing officials have uncovered Gazan efforts to make use of online retailers such as AliExpress and eBay in order to attempt to smuggle dual-purpose items that can be used for military purposes into the strip. Security officials believe that some of the items ordered could have been used in order to assemble improvised weapons.
