Jerusalem, 7 February, 2017 (TPS) -- The Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet) revealed on Tuesday the arrest of a terrorist cell reponsible for multiple Molotov cocktail attacks on Route 443 and Route 436 in the area Givat Ze’ev, Judea and Samaria.

The cell, composed of young Palestinians residents of Beit ‘Anan in northwest Jerusalem, has been involved in seven incidents in which molotov cocktails were thrown on the roads in recent months.

Indictments against them were filed in the Military Court in Judea and a prolongation of their arrests was requested until the end of proceedings.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports a total of 280 Molotov cocktails attacks throughout Israel from August 2016 to January 2017, including 44 such attacks recorded for last month alone.

“The Shin Bet sees these acts of terrorism as very serious and life-threatening. Together with its partners in the IDF and Israel Police, the Shin Bet will work vigorously in order to expose these terror cells and to punish those involved,” stated the Shin Bet Spokespeople.
