Terrorist Killed at Lions' Gate

Jerusalem, 13 March, 2017 (TPS) -- Border Police shot and killed a terrorist who attacked them at Jerusalem’s Lions’ Gate earlier this morning. He approached their position, and then took out a knife and stabbed them. One of the officers in the position managed to draw his weapon and fired, killing the assailant.

 Two Border Police officers were injured. One sustained superficial injuries, the other was injured more seriously. They were both evacuated to Hadassah Ein Karem hospital, where they have been hospitalized, and are in satisfactory condition. The lightly injured officer is expected to be released later today or tomorrow.

The terrorist was a resident of Jabal Mukaber, an Arab majority neighborhood in southeast Jerusalem. Border Police raided the terrorist’s house and arrested four of his family members on suspicions of aiding and abetting. The four of them were brought in front of the court which extended their detention until Wednesday. The investigation is still ongoing.
