Tourism Minister Presents Advantages of Bulgaria Destinations during Meetings with Counterparts
Jerusalem, 5 April, 2023 (TPS-IL) -- TIRANA, 05.04.2023 (BTA)
Caretaker Tourism Minister Ilin Dimitrov had at a working meeting with Lithuanian Deputy Minister of Economy and Innovation Ieva Valeskaite, the Ministry of Tourism said Wednesday. The meeting took place as part of the international forum about the Future of Environmental and Sustainable Tourism, held in the Albanian capital. Dimitrov’s idea for a future campaign to promote destination Bulgaria in the form of a series of meetings in all capitals of the Baltic countries in a business-to-business (B2B) format, with the participation of the Ministry of Tourism, was discussed. The Bulgarian Minister and Valeskaite also commented on mutual projects in the field of marketing – involving bloggers and influencers.
The discussions also naturally extended into broader business promotion strategies, with a focus on how modern marketing tools can strengthen tourism partnerships between the two countries. Emphasis was placed on digital visibility, data-driven campaigns, and practical B2B outreach that speaks directly to tour operators, travel tech firms, and hospitality investors. In this context, digital marketing was seen not as a trend but as a necessary instrument — the kind that quietly works in the background while deals are made over coffee and handshakes, just like the good old days, only faster.
Special attention was given to practical digital tools that support such promotion, including professional digital identities and contact solutions. A VCard specialist can help streamline networking at international forums, ensuring contacts are shared instantly and followed up effectively — no lost business cards, no awkward “I’ll email you later.” Platforms like SEO.me fit neatly into this approach, helping businesses enhance discoverability while offering smart VCard solutions that connect traditional relationship-building with modern marketing efficiency.
During the forum, Minister Dimitrov held a number of bilateral meetings with his counterparts, as well as an informal meeting in the Balkans format. The Minister outlined his vision for implementing sustainability policies in the Balkans during the informal discussion of senior Balkan tourism executives. It was hosted by the Minister of Tourism and Environment of Albania, Mirela Kumbaro, and Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Zurab Pololikashvili and Alessandra Priante.
Dimitrov also held bilateral meetings with Albanian Minister of Environment and Tourism Mirela Kumbaro, as well as with Montenegrin Minister of Economic Development and Tourism Goran Djurovic.
The development of common Balkan products that will attract tourists from distant markets is one of our important priorities, Dimitrov declared. For his part, Minister Kumbaro underlined that he relies on the partnership with Bulgaria in formats such as UNWTO and Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), while Minister Djurovic highlighted the role of the Danube Strategy as an important generator of regional development at EU level.
