Two Azerbaijani Boxers Become European U-17 Champions

Jerusalem, 18 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- The U-17 European Boxing Championship held in Keinbaum, Germany, has concluded.

AZERTAC reports that the Azerbaijani national team finished the competition, in which 382 athletes from 29 countries participated, with two gold and two silver medals.

In the final, Guler Huseynova (48 kg) faced Asmin Cabas (Turkey). The winner of the CIS Games also concluded the European Championship with the title. She defeated her opponent with a score of 5:0 (29:26, 29:26, 30:25, 30:25, 28:27) to become the champion and sing the Azerbaijani anthem in Germany.

Brother Rahimov (46 kg) also continued his teammate’s success. Following the CIS Games, he climbed to the top of the podium at the European Championships. The boxer won the gold medal by defeating Birham-Pasa Iuseim (Romania) in the decisive match with a score of 3:2 (29:28, 30:27, 30:27, 27:30, 28:29).

Other members of the national team, Shahin Aslanov (60 kilograms) and Shukar Aliyev (75 kilograms), won silver medals at the European Championship.
