Jerusalem, 1 October, 2017 (TPS) -- Police and IDF forces set out on a joint operation Saturday night in order to locate and confiscate illegal firearms in the Palestinian village of Bani Na’im, south of Hebron.

During the search of one home, Police confiscated 4 assault rifles with optical scopes, ammunition and a metal detector found in the house.

“Illegal firearms have been used on more than one occasion to carry out terror attacks, violent acts and crime,” said a police spokesman. “The Israel Police will continue, along with the other security forces, to collaborate in order to minimize the phenomenon of illegal weapons.”
