‘Your Time Will Soon Come’: Netanyahu Calls on Iranians to Overthrow Regime

Jerusalem, 28 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) -- As Israel and the U.S. struck Iranian nuclear and military targets, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on Iranians to overthrow Tehran’s clerical regime on Saturday night.

“Calling on the citizens of Iran – do not miss the opportunity. Your time will soon come to take to the streets, complete the task and overthrow the regime that makes your lives miserable,” Netanyahu said in a Hebrew language video statement. “This fateful operation will continue as long as necessary. This war will bring true peace.”

He added that Israel destroyed the compound of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, but did not confirm his death. “There are many signs that this dictator is gone,” Netanyahu said.

Israel and the U.S. launched strikes on Iran, with 200 Israeli aircraft attacking 500 targets, including defense systems and missile launchers.
