Zionist Union Will Not Appeal Legalization Law

By Yoni Ariel/TPS • 7 February, 2017

Jerusalem, 7 February, 2017 (TPS) -- Zionist Union co-leader Mk Tzipi Livni said today that her party would not petition the High Court of Justice to overturn the Expropriation Law the Knesset passed last night.

“The government should be allowed to stew in its own juice”, she said. “Netanyahu is fully aware of the ramifications of last night’s vote, and knows he is leading the country into a confrontation with itself and the world”. “Despite his, which is why he tried to postpone the vote, he is unable to bring himself to put the national interest above his short term political calculations”.

She said it was not her party’s job to get the government off the hook it had so willfully put itself on.

Other Zionist Union members voiced similar sentiments, saying they saw no reason to appeal the law, and if the Court overturns it, be rewarded with accusations of being Jew hating left-wingers who caused innocent Jewish families to be evicted from their homes.
