IDF Troops Mistakenly Fire at Civilian Aircraft
IDF troops stationed in the Golan Heights on Wednesday mistakenly fired at a civilian aircraft after they thought it had infiltrated from Syria.
The IDF stated that the troops fired at the aircraft after it identified it as a “hostile” aircraft that flew in from Syria and “posed a real threat.”
The troops fired at the plane with their light weapons but ceased fire after they understood their mistake.
A bullet hit one of the plane’s wings.
The IDF stated it launched an investigation into this “severe” incident.
