Trump: ‘Rivlin Represented her Beloved Country with Grace and Stature’
President Donald Trump on Wednesday conveyed his condolences to Israel and to its President Reuven Rivlin following the passing of First Lady Nechama Rivlin.
“Melania and I send our deepest condolences to President Reuven Rivlin and the entire State of Israel upon the passing of Mrs. Nechama Rivlin.”
“Mrs. Rivlin represented her beloved country with grace and stature. We will miss her along with all those who knew her,” tweeted Trump.
Netanyahu Expresses Deep Sorrow over Passing of Nechama Rivlin
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday bid farewell to Nechama Rivlin, wife of President Reuven Rivlin, who passed away.
“Together with all citizens of Israel, my wife Sara and I express deep sorrow over the passing of Nechama Rivlin, the wife of President Reuven Rivlin,” Netanyahu said in a statement.
“We all prayed for her recovery during the recent period in which she fought for her life heroically and with strength of spirit. We send our deepest heartfelt condolences to the President and all members of his family. May her memory be blessed.”
Man Killed in Car Blast in North
A man was killed on Monday in the city of Nesher in northern Israel when the car he was driving in exploded.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
The victim, 42, was known to the police and had survived a similar attempt on his life a few months ago.
Israeli Youth Injured by Bottle in Jerusalem’s Old City
An Israeli youth was lightly injured by a bottle thrown at him near the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem’s Old City.
MDS medics treated the victim, 15, for a head injury.
Police units have launched a search for suspects involved in the incident.
Israelis are flocking to the capital to celebrate the 52nd anniversary of the unification of Jerusalem during the 1967 Six Day War.
Muslims rioted twice earlier in the day on the Temple Mount.
Terror attack in Jerusalem’s Old City
Terrorist stabbed first victim with fork at Damascus Gate, then continued to Hurva Synagogue where he stabbed the second victim before being neutralized. One victim in critical condition transferred to Jerusalem’s Shaarei Tzedek hospital.
