Netanyahu Cancels Putin Meeting to Consolidate the Right

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu canceled his trip to Russia to meet with President Vladimir Putin in order to complete the consolidation of Israel’s political right.

Netanyahu and Putin will talk by phone and will reschedule at a later date, Netanyahu’s office stated.

Netanyahu’s has been working vigorously in recent days to bring several right-wing parties together, ahead of the April elections. He depends on their support in forming a coalition.

Police Arrest 5 Arab Rioters on Temple Mount

Israel’s police on Monday arrested five Arabs on the Temple Mount after a number of Muslim worshipers tried to force their way into the Golden Gate area, which has been closed by a court order.

A police force operating in the area prevented their entrance and arrested five suspects for questioning.

Jewish visits to the Temple Mount continued as usual.

IDF Shells Hamas Targets in Response to Cross-Border Attack

IDF tanks fired at two Hamas military posts in Gaza on Sunday night in response to an explosive device that was thrown during Hamas-led riots on the border that left an IDF soldier injured.

An IDF officer was injured by an explosive device was thrown during Gaza riots on Israel’s border fence.

The soldier was evacuated to Barzilai hospital in Ashkelon in moderate condition with a wound to his neck.

Police Arrest 4 Suspects in Jerusalem Stabbing

The police on Sunday afternoon announced that it had arrested four suspects tied to the stabbing earlier in the day of a man in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Gilo.

The four are in their 20s and 30s and are residents of Jerusalem, the police said.

The incident was criminal and not terrorism-related, the police emphasized.

IDF Captures Lebanese Man who Crossed into Israel

IDF forces on Thursday captured a Lebanese citizen who crossed the border into Israel.

He was not armed, an IDF spokesman said.

The spokesman stressed that the suspect was under surveillance throughout the entire incident.

A similar crossing by a Lebanese citizen into Israel occurred earlier this month.
